Daily Bulletin (2/3)

Happy February! This is your daily bulletin for February 3rd, 2020. 

  1. Class of 2020 Graduation is closer than you think.  To avoid paying rush charges for your Senior Portraits please call JP Impressions to order or have your website re posted.  They are open most Saturdays for your ordering convenience as well.

  2. Yearbooks are now on sale online and in the A-06 bank for only $65! Buy before February 29th at yearbookordercenter.com, and use the code “6072”! What better way to look back at the year than buying a yearbook! 

  3.  Attention All students: We need your input on how to improve Independence!! Join us at our LCAP meeting on Tuesday, February 4 at 6:00 pm in the Innovation Lab, N-02. All who attend will be entered into a raffle!! All seniors who attend will be entered into a raffle for RESERVED SEATING for GRADUATION!!!

  4. Hey Seniors! IF you’re an athlete and plan to be a teacher…I have scholarship you can apply for worth $500. IF you’re an athlete that will play three sports this year, I have a scholarship you can apply for worth $500. IF you’re an athlete and you have at least a 3.0 and have done some community service I have a scholarship you can apply for worth $1500. IF you think you qualify for any of these, see Coach Finney in A-0-6…deadlines are soon, but it’s a chance to get free money for college if you qualify!!!

  5. Hey Seniors!! Have you taken your senior portraits? Do you want to submit a senior quote for the yearbook? Well now you can! Submit your quote at tinyurl.com/IHSSeniorQuotes2020, again, tinyurl.com/IHSSeniorQuotes2020, or go to @ihs.yearbookclub and click the link in their bio. 

  6. It’s time for German Club’s annual Schnitzelfest!!! Come enjoy delicious all you can eat German food and desserts! The event will be on Wednesday, February 12th from 3:15-5:30pm in C-Commons! Tickets are $7 from any german club officer & $8 at the door!

  7. Hey friends! Acts of Random Kindness Club will be selling Valentine’s grams! Each gram will include three heart-shaped French macarons and a cute gram design, ONLY for $3! We will be delivering to 3rd, 4th, and 5th period on Valentine’s Day. You can buy grams from any ARK officer or Ms. Helmer in C311.

  8.  (READ AS A POEM) Hey single mingles & love doveys! / Valentine’s Day is nearing, / show love to those endearing! / Send a hand-crocheted rose, with candy & your prose. / Yellow, pink, white, or red, / one for a friend or the one you might wed. / On sale Monday to Friday in A-05 @ lunch / Buy from Sewing club, just one or a bunch! 

  9. Interact club will be having its weekly meeting TODAY @ lunch in a-commons! Come by to get updated on new service events and fundraisers!

  10. Hey pals! Bring Change to Mind Club will be selling PALentine Grams for your friends! Our grams include 1 yellow rose, 1 cookie, 3 chocolates, and a cute customized card all for only $3. You can buy them from any BC2M officers or Ms. Dang in C307 before February 12. We will be delivering them on Valentine’s Day during 3rd, 4th or 5th periods.

  11. Hey Sixers! Winter is flying by and Valentines Day is right around the corner. Show your love for your friends and classmates by buying Chess Club’s Brookie Grams, with the frankendessert goodie bag and a personalized note all for only $3.00! Ask a Chess Club officer to learn how you can support our club and give some joy during the holiday by buying a Brookie Gram for Valentines Day!

  12. The fourth grading period is flying by, and what better way to celebrate the end of winter than by buying a Valentines Day Gram from the IHS Black Student Union. The grams come with a little heartfelt note and miniature fruit kebabs, all for $2.00! If you want to spread some love and happiness this holiday and support the Black Student Union, ask a member of the club how you can buy some of our Valentines Day Grams!

  13. The class of 2021 will be selling their world famous brownies as Valentines Grams for only $2 dollars! Each gram comes with one brownie and a greetings card! Beginning today you can buy yours special someone for only 2 dollars! 

  14.  Also, the class of 2021 will be having a class meeting today to talk about BOTC, powderpuff, airband and etc! It is mandatory for all of those who are interested in participating in BOTC to go!

  15. Today is the start of Spring Sports!! Here’s the try-out schedule: Badminton – 4pm-5:30pm meet on blacktop, ready to run; no rackets Boys Golf – meet with Mr. Bartholomew in D-312 at break or lunch Softball – 3:30 at the softball field  Swim – 3:15 on the pool deck Boys Tennis – 3:30 on the tennis courts Track – 3:30 at the stadium Boys Volleyball – starts tomorrow at Piedmont Hills small gym 5pm-8pmYou must be cleared on Athletic Clearance to participate! Go Sixers!!

  16.  Great efforts to the girls varsity basketball team for their victory against Leigh High School 61-58! Come to their next home game on thursday against silver creek

  17.  AND Baseball tryouts will begin TODAY 2/3/20. All players and skill levels are welcome. Please be sure to bring shoes/cleats, glove, hat and attire to run in. Meet @ the baseball diamond and be ready to go by 3:30pm. Also please be sure to get onto athletics clearance and fill out the necessary paperwork and get your physical completed so you will be able to participate. 

  18.  If you are interested in joining the track and field team, practice will start TODAYat 3:30 at the track.  If you have any questions, please see Coach Thompson Ly in N-02 during break, lunch, or after school. Hope to see you there!
